The history of Dillon Music
The Dillon family’s involvement with music goes back to the 18th Century, when William Dillon was a fifer in the Continental army during the Revolutionary war and eventually served under George Washington. It was in 1992 that Steve Dillon, a descendant of William and a graduate of Rutgers University with a degree in Music Education, founded Dillon Music in Woodbridge, New Jersey.
Why Woodbridge? Well, because the location was perfect: 4 hours from Washington D.C., 4 hours from Boston, 1 hour from Philadelphia and 45 minutes from Manhattan. The Newark Liberty International Airport is only 15 minutes away, there is a train station one block away from the store, and to top it off all the main roads in the state of New Jersey come together at Woodbridge.
All of this, and of course the friendly and helpful service that they provide makes Dillon Music special. If you have the opportunity to pay them a visit we highly recommend that you do! You can try dozens of second hand trumpets, many of which previously belonged to some of the world’s greatest trumpet players. If it is a new horn that you are looking for then this is the perfect place as they have an enormous stock of new instruments for you to try out and choose from.
From all of us here we would like to take this opportunity to thank Dillon Music for believing in Trumpet Magazine and joining the many from the trumpet world that believe in us and make this possible.
